Now that there is unilateral cease fire by the government of Ethiopia and withdrawal of the ENDF and Eritrean forces in Tigray , there should be no more excuses for UNICEF, US and EU to harp about access in the affected areas .

They need to move on assisting in reversing the malnutritions and impending famine they constantly tell us about instead of recounting their projections on an impending disaster. They should help facilitate assistance in resources to quell the people’s need for food and water in the region.

People’s need should not be used for misinformation and propaganda like the International Crisis Group (ICG) does . Yes there is urgency in assistance for people suffering in the region. The condition created (i.e unilateral cease fire) should help aid groups unfettered access and move things along.

Feigning ignorance of the situation, dwelling on problems of access is the last thing the people in the region need now. Yes, let’s talk less and do more in addressing this urgent need of assisting with food and water. International aid organizations tell us there are an estimated one million people affected by the regional conflict.

If the West and International organizations true intentions are reversing the humanitarian disaster, the conditions are already met. But if their hidden agenda is opening a corridor through the Sudan and trying to revive the TPLF, they will face strong resistance from the government and the Amhara region. PM Abiy is well aware of this and mentioned it in his recent interview with Fana Broadcasting.

We just learned a bridge over Tekeze river in Tigray has been destroyed. Hager Wodad condemns in the strongest terms whoever did this outrages act. We regret to learn aid will be hampered but there are other roads and air travel access in the area. If there is will, there is way.
